Bayer Yakuhin, Tokyo, Japan, the Japanese unit of German pharmaceutical company, Bayer AG, and Meiji Seika Kaisha, Tokyo, Japan, have agreed to cooperate in production and sales of over-the-counter (OTC) and healthcare products, including foods and nutritional supplements. Meiji Seika will be given first rights to sell products imported or produced by Bayer Yakuhin. Meiji Seika has been diversifying into other healthcare areas and expects the Bayer Yakuhin agreement to help expand its product lineup, while Bayer Yakuhin hopes to boost sales in Japan through the alliance.
